Ranking incoming calls by Queue

Postby DavidAnderson » Thu Mar 08, 2012 12:38 pm

Is this on the list of "to-do's?" If not, is there a way that we can do it?

We have a Queue that needs to be VIP and answered before our normal calls..

Thanks,
David

This is a feature request we have on our list.

The only way I can think of accomplishing this today is to have two queues. The first queue is for non-VIP members and they wait 3 minutes no matter what, after 3 minutes they spill into the main queue. VIP members will go into the main queue immediately. This isn't perfect because non-vip members can wait 3 minutes and then still be ahead of VIP members. Not optimal but may be the right fit for certain circumstances.

K, kinda what I thought...it's definitely a necessary feature for us. We try to answer all of our calls within 15 seconds, but a VIP call needs to be bumped up the list, regardless.

If you need a beta tester for anything lemme know.

Thanks David.

David
I've done things similar to this with some customers, using your CRM to rank customers, and placing them in queues appropriately. Different queues might ring more or less members, and may have CID prefixed with something that lets agents know it's a higher priority. It isn't the best way to handle this situation, but it's about as good as we can do with Switchvox now, short of peering it with an Asterisk machine, and queuing there.

PM me if you're interested in some help with this.
