Network fax printer setup FAILING

Followed the instructions for setting up a network fax printer in Windows 2008 ....

but I can't get past the username and password dialog. I get Network Authentication Error ... "You do not have access rights to the printer, please try a different username or password.". I've tried my extension # & password (as per instructions) & the pbx admin username & password to no avail. What's it looking for? :evil:

I read through the linked post but didn't find a solution or an update. Is there an update to this? We're on Switchvox 5.7 and I'm getting the same error.

That hotfix has never worked for me. We got 2 new computers in the last 6 months that came with Win7 SP1 64-bit and I can't get the fax printers to install.

Our phone company conferenced in Digium support and that tech couldn't figure it out either. It frustrates me just thinking about :x

We ran into this problem, made some changes to the Devices and Printers configuration and got it working. Try this.

Here is a quick blurb about the fax printer install fix:

Troubleshot Network Fax capabilities on Windows 7. Make sure you have admin rights on the computer.
Removed all other Fax devices from customer's PC
Installed Hotfix on customer's system
Reboot
Try reading the fax printer (http://192.168.1.3:631/printers/faxprinter)
If, when adding, you get a prompt for user logon that does not work or a small printer related window pops up asking for the Standard TCP/IP port Monitor window, apply the following remedy.
Remedy:
Opened Devices and Printers
Selected a printer from the list - this makes 'Print Server Properties' show in the tool bar
Picked 'Print Server Properties', go to Ports tab
Looked through the list and removed any orphaned ports labeled 'http://192.168.1.3:631/printers/faxprinter'
Close and try reading the printer again. This worked for us.
