Need some help from some of you smart folks

OK, here is the scenario for what I've been asked to put together.

A call comes in over a DID. Depending on the DID, the call gets routed to an external number (not an extension).
If there is no answer, the call gets sent to an extension in our building.

So, any ideas?

I'd probably set up a virtual extension, and set the call rules to first dial external number for 3 rings, then dial local extension for 3 rings, then go to voicemail. this would get costly if you have multiple did's like this. You could do it with an IVR I think, I'm not sure how you would set it to take the call back once you dial an external number though.

That worked great. If a call is made to the DID, it first rings the external number 3 times, and if no answer, sends the call to one of our queues internally.
