[ADA] Feature Requests

Postby bkruse » Wed Dec 10, 2008 4:25 pm

Post a feature request as a new topic, along with this as somewhat of a template if you are unsure on how to state it:

- What feature would you like to see in ADA in the future?

- What problem/concern brought you to this features?

- On a scale of 1-10, how important is this feature for you?

Thanks!

LDAP

Postby litnimax » Tue Dec 23, 2008 4:45 am

Thanks for the new product!
I suppose it would be a good feature - LDAP address book. So that contacts could be searched not only in Outlook, but also in corporate LDAP server.
Linux app would also be welcome :-)

ADA- New feature...

Postby aculleton » Fri Jan 16, 2009 9:27 am

Can you answer inbound calls using a click with ADA. When i receive an inbound call i get a screen pop but i need to press a button on my phone to answer the call..

ps..
I can make outgoing calls fine ,

I would also be nice if you had some way of adding a leading digit so if you had to put a 9 infront to get an outside line then the application could do this for numbers from the web or from you contacts...

It may be possible to do this using a new context in the dialplan also..

By the way this is a great app that is sure to keep our users happy..
Rgds

Yes, I am going to try to work with this.

It will work for phones that support the SIP header for auto-answer.

Well, it's pretty simple as far as pre-pending a 9, you do that in the dialplan!

exten _X.,1,Dial(SIP/provider/${EXTEN:1})

ADA looks like the new version of Snapanumber....particularly as the systray icon is identical....and www.snapanumber.com redirects to Digium.

Why does Snap's site not redirect to somewhere like http://forums.digium.com/viewtopic.php?t=66048? At least people would know what's going on. Though you would also need to mention that Snap is now ADA somewhere....

Anyway, the feature requests are as follows:

The ability to run an application on ring/answer in the same way that Snapanumber provides.

Image

The ability to pass variables to the endpoint in the same way that snapanumber provides

Image

These are things I have paid money for and would not like to see disappear!

Clearly I could have missed them and they are included in ADA.......please advise.

Thanks.

As I explained earlier, I will do the best I can to implement these features, however, the code base of ADA and the picture you referenced there are not the same.

100% Linux

Postby Bryan Russell » Tue Feb 03, 2009 1:01 pm

By far the most important feature for my customers and I is Linux support. I have many companies who I have converted to Linux and they will never go back to anything they were using before. I also owe Linux for my success and I promote it everywhere I go. At the very worst, tested compatibility with WINE or CrossOver on Linux would be an acceptable alternative, although a native client would be ideal.

Hey Bryan,

Yes, I have also looked into this, and it is a possibility, especially with the Mono and .Net mimic frameworks coming as far as they have.

It would be so nice if you add CallerID num support (I think it is not lot work).
Possilbe solution that callerid should be the manager extension instead of dialed number (if dialing from ada)

It could be good for FreePBX outbound cid support (by extension)

I set
[ada]
from-internal

e.g.
/PSTN dialing through ITSP SIP trunk provider with outbound cid support/

If I call with the IP-phone outside to PSTN it works.

Unfortunately calling with ADA the callerid forced as the dialed number. In this case SIP provider will refuse it (only allow calling from outbound cid).

If I could set (like in Snap) the callerid number to the extension number, then the outbound cid could will be fine.

Regards:
Csabka

P.S.: with some hax on [ada] context I was able to force callerid, but it doesn't seems to be good solution.

Thundirbird Support

Postby bbach » Wed May 20, 2009 3:06 pm

The old Snap a Number had aThundirbird plugin that let you dial from thundirbird's address book. I'd like to see that come back.

Also, it would be really nice if thundirbird were supported just like outlook.

csabka;

Here is what I did to change the Caller ID info:

[ada]
include => from-internal
exten => XXX,1,Set(CALLERID(num)=XXX)
exten => XXX,n,Set(CALLERID(name)="Name")
exten => XXX,n,Dial(SIP/XXX,10)

Of course, replace XXX with your extension number.

For some reason, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. The caller ID number on my device appears exactly like I set it through this context every single time, but on the called device it's very inconsistent. Sometimes my caller id appears as set, sometimes appears as the called number. Honestly I couldn't figure it out, and any help should be very welcomed by the community.
