ADA tapi support

Postby sigma-jim » Sat Jan 24, 2009 10:30 am

This may be covered in the admin manual (current link broken).

I have ADA 1.1 installed, but when I goto OL dialer I don't see a TAPI option (as I do if I have ASTTAPI installed).

I know ADA has it's own OL plug for dialing, but I have clients who want to use TAPI with ACT.

Hi

Firstly have you run the TAPIcontrol.exe /install ?

If you have then check with modems and phones in control panel and see if its there

then run dialer.exe and make sure you select ADA as the tapi device.

If that works. Then reopen Outlook and see if the ADA line is there now ?

If it isnt. Then this is a problem I have seen for many years with outlook and tapi devices. if you have one and remove it it seems impossible to load a different one.

ADA tapi works fine. I deployed it last week with on a site with Goldmine and and had no issues.

Ian

and check its there.

ian, thank you for the reply. Part of this is i'm flying blind without the admin manual as the link is broken. If you have the admin manual for 1.1 or similar i'd appreciate a copy :-)

Hi

I didnt use a manual. Very little info is needed. basicly

Install exe

restart PC and run the checks I mention

on asterisk you need a context [ada] and include you normal phone context

and create a user in manager.conf.

The tapi side is no different to any othe tapi realy. just make sure its installed if not install it as I mentioned

Thanks IAN!

I will also add that TAPI /install switch/command into the installer (which I swore it already was)

tapi working for 64 bit windows?

Postby joesuffceren » Tue Feb 03, 2009 3:58 pm

When I try to launch "tapicontrol.exe /install" it returns "ADA TAPI Installation failed". This is on Vista Business x64 in a "run as administrator" command prompt. The software seems to be working well and is very nice, but I desperately need a 64 bit TAPI solution for asterisk. If this is not that solution, please just let me know, and I'll move on. If this is, or will be, or can be that solution, please let me know. Any help would be much appreciated (including a shove in the right direction if this is not it).

Thanks!

any 64 bit asterisk tapi drivers out there?

Postby joesuffceren » Wed Feb 04, 2009 5:54 pm

Maybe this isn't the place to ask, but does anyone know of a 64 bit asterisk tapi driver, then? I've been looking forever, and finally found a commercial solution (xtelsio), but it doesn't work on two different 64 bit boxes I've tried. I'm pulling my hair out here. I wish I knew how to code one myself. I'll be more than happy to be a guinea pig for anyone who wants to try their hand at coding one. I think there should be an official one as part of the asterisk codebase... Thanks so much for any helpful solutions. fwiw, I'm using cisco 7940 phones, so a solution oriented towards them would work for me as well.

Thanks!

TAPI x64

Postby 3vian » Wed Apr 15, 2009 10:38 am

Same problem here - it didn't install any of the add-ins...

I used HUDlite in the past, but the TAPI just stopped working for me, no idea why.

ADA is more what I want, i don't really need to be able to monitor the entire system, just integrate with Outlook & browser would be nice.

Any chance of developing a TAPI for Vista x64? Perhaps I should put this in the feature request section?

has there been any progress made on a 64bit tapi driver for this application? Has anyone found a way to get the ADA working on a 64bit system? Anyone have recommendations on an alternate product if this software is not going to support 64bit operating systems in the near future?
