v4.5 and SNMP

Postby AndreKostur » Tue Jan 26, 2010 3:52 pm

The release notes talk about SNMP information. Where are the SNMP MIBs so one can see what's exposed?

All of the help/documentation about our new features can also be found in our Admin Guide that we publish online. You can view it here:
https://www.digium.com/en/supportcenter ... wdocs/SWVX

At the top of the guide it talks all about new feature sin 4.5. I have copied the SNMP section for your convenience.

SNMP Settings
SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) is used to monitor devices on an IP network. If you are not
already using SNMP, then you can safely ignore these settings.
If you are already using SNMP, you can monitor the OIDs that the Switchvox agent provides.
IMPORTANT: Be sure to allow SNMP traffic in Switchvox Access Control. (By default, SNMP traffic is not
allowed).
SNMP v1/v2c Community Name
Enter the Community Name for the SNMP community to which Switchvox should belong.
SNMP v3 User Name
Enter the SNMP User Name, if you are using SNMP version 3.
SNMP v3 Password
Enter the SNMP Password, if you are using SNMP version 3.

The actual MIB would still be useful for all sorts of SNMP tools so that they can interpret the OIDs appropriate with the correct types and such.

Is anybody else having a problem where .1.3.6.1.4.1.22736.10.4.2 number of reachable SIP phones always reports back with zero?

I'm not running 4.5 anymore (currently up to the latest version), but that OID is responding with valid data:

zenoss1:~# snmpget -v2c -c public sip.incognito.com .1.3.6.1.4.1.22736.10.4.2.0
iso.3.6.1.4.1.22736.10.4.2.0 = INTEGER: 87
zenoss1:~#
