Postby carlos.suarez » Thu Jun 09, 2011 5:48 pm

OK, I have my FreePBX on VirtualMachine AsteriskNOW working with 3 extensions, now what are the next steps to get the GSM integration for send SMS.

I want to know stuff like once I installed and ran AsteriskNow freePBX, what I have to buy, install, configurate and put to work.

To integrate a GSM you need a GSM gateway, they can connect via SIP or via FXO TRUNK, commonly they are used to reduce the cost in celular calls not for sms, but the GSM gateways have a command line to send sms, so you need to know wich gateway you will buy and then read the information to create an script to send sms.

If you are using FreePBX all configurations must be done via WEBGUI, if you need to edit the conf files you only can touch the conf file with termanation _custom.conf.

Use Google to find help or FreePBX page.
