TE220 & TE 121 Cards Alarms Red

Postby kabbz » Wed Apr 11, 2012 9:28 am

I bought two digium cards, TE220 & TE121 sometime last year for an inbound call centre here in Kenya. The E1 link has been setup and mapped but when i connect the cable to any of my cards, they all indicate RED. We have troubleshoot the physical link with the carrier am connecting to and the loop is OK but i still get the RED light when i connect the cable to my cards. I am highly suspecting that it could be a frame mismatch but do not know how to verify that. Please assist.

Hi James,

The quickest path to resolution is to contact Digium Technical Support for help with setting up your new cards.

Also, make sure you read the configuration section of the TE120 Series User Manual if you haven't already looked at it. You'll need to know how your provider has configured your drop.

Cheers,

Hi all,

I have exactly the same problem with my Wildcard TE121.

I'm not a specialist in ISDN technology but what I (at least I think) I know is that it is provided to our company via SHDSL.
The signal seems to be modified by an Adtran 6540 modem that forwards the signal to a G.703 port.

When I connect the card to the modem it flashes red. Neither a straight-through ethernet cable, nor an E1/T1 crossover cable makes any difference.
Also all possible configuration changes (that could be made with FreePBX) in every combination didn't helped.
I'm trying about two weeks now to get this work...
Our previous phone system (which is quite old) works just fine in this structure.

Maybe someone here had the same issues and knows what goes wrong here?

We're using Asterisk 1.8 and the newest version of DAHDI.

Thanks!
