Voice input IVR

Postby garicup » Thu Apr 05, 2012 7:09 pm

Hello,

I'm fairly new to asterisk and everything hasn't been too bad to work with so far. I'm using AsteriskNOW with freepbx everything is properly configured for outbound call (thats all I require). Basically I know theres an IVR built into the system and I need a way to make it work for outbound call. I need the outbound IVR to be able to recognize what the person its calling says...specifically say (key input isn't a problem)...and then move on to the next step.

For example, call a person, ask for their name, when they say their name, proceed to ask for their age, etc.

I already have the script to do the auto calling, but I do not know if the ivr built into asterisk can support voice inputs....or if it can properly translate the input and respond accordingly.

If asterisk is incapable of doing this, any recommend a software or other method in which we can use to achieve this goal at minimal cost would also be much appreciated.

We're a small info gathering company and would rather not spend thousands on a solution.

Any help or suggestion would be much appreciated.

((PS. We've looked into the voicent systems, but we dont want to invest in it if as we're unsure of its capability to do this task. The trial was too restricted.))

you can write such an application with combination of call files and dial-plan .
with call files you can generate outbound calls and when users answers put them in a specific context . in that context you can play everything and read what customer dials or record his voice . when a customers answers the firs question he can dial # or any character to go to the next step .

call files are some simple files . you can generate them with a simple php script and make a gui for that .

Hey, thanks for the reply, was a little busy finally got back to implementing this. You mentioned (and from what Ive seen/done so far) you can only use numbers or the keypad to get input from the user. I want the user to be able to call the user, if the user says pizza, it can then transfer them appropriately. My problem is getting the "pizza" input and letting the asterisk ivr understand that. Getting the user to enter digits and moving them to another menu is done. I need the voice part. Any help would be much appreciated.

Edit: In fact, if there's any way to attach a voice to text using asterisk, I can probably work with that also.

Thanks
