Any idea why i cant access the GUI on the D40 and D50 but I can on the D70?

It says "Access to this Web User Interface has been disabled".

Hi,

This is normal, because you are using your Digium SIP phone with Switchvox which is provisionning it.
You can access to some parameters through the Switchvox Admin GUI, as phone settings in the user/extension settings.

If you want to access to the phone GUI, you must do a factory reset to the phone.
Take a look on it's GUI and decide to do Switchvox provisionning again because all is more cool and easy like this.

Best Regards,
Francois

Will the Digium phones resolve SRV records? We have an SRV record for another Asterisk system in addition to Switchvox. We would like to use these phones across both platforms which we sell.

Hi,

As far as I know, you can record the phone to only one server when provisionned behind a Switchvox.
If you don't use with Switchvox, you have a total access to the full list parameters.
I have not seen something for multi-SRV records... You must check by yourself and corfirm here if possible.

Best Regards,

I like them :-)
New ideas, good design, good sound, all with requested connectors...
Already new features as queues monitoring, virtual voicemail, parking lot display, presence full integration.
I hope that people will play with them and ear from them with special vertical embeded java applications !
These SIP phones are REALY developped for Asterisk Open Source and Switchvox without compromise to be compliant for other brands or SIP solutions.
This is a great event and restarting for our Switchvox and Asterisk community :-)

They seem to work fine, except Switchvox is not the only telecom solution we provide. We have another system that requires the phone to resolve SRV records. And Polycoms, Ciscos, and others seem to work fine, but we can not get the Digium phones to work. We asked the question in the "Webinar" that just concluded, but they didnt seem to want to answer it

Digium phones are for Switchvox or Asterisk Digium phones branch only.
They have been developped for that and they are able to do more than other SIP phones brands for Switchvox and Asterisk.
And they are open for java development to load in them for best users experience, satisfaction and best integration as possible, but not for other IPBX brand/platforms.

However, Digium's sales engineers said they were an open source architecture using SIP standards and that they may be used on other systems. We are inquiring on the features that we were sold on these phones. How can we upgrade existing customers phones to Digium phones if they do not work?

Could you precise me how the SRV method works exactly ?
I don't use it.
Is it a kind of URL request to DNS ?
Have you an exemple ?

It's actualy possible to use the Digium SIP phones as a SIP phone for another SIP system.
Each virtual line can point/register to a different SIP server or proxy designed by its IP address or host name.

And, I have just checked : you can share the same SIP phone with Switchvox AND another "standard" SIP proxy or IPBX in same time. One on each virtual line. All from the Switchvox admin WEB pages...

http://bhavin.directi.com/understanding-srv-records/

We have servers that are accessible publicly that use SRV records exclusively rather than DNS records for security reasons.

Howdy,

1.0.x firmware releases for phones do not support SRV record resolution. We will address this in a future firmware release.

Howdy,

Negative. Work's under way, but until everything's done and through QA I can't give any specifics.

Cheers
