Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. We've just upgraded to the Switchvox SMB 5.5.3 release. Our D70, D50 and D40 phones on 5.5.2 were working fine.
After upgrading to 5.5.3 - the phones booted up and said "downloading new firmware" (as Digium included a new firmware for these phones with release 5.5.3).
The D70 came back after the firmware update without problem.
The D40 and D50 were stuck in a constant reboot cycle. They'd slowly boot up then show "No IP Address" on the screen and then would reboot again.
With some digging, I found that if I set the VLAN setting on the phone to "NONE" (it's normally set to MANUAL) the phone boots up and works fine on our DATA VLAN (we've set it up this way for testing). Many of our customers do not allow phone traffic on their DATA VLANs so this is not a sufficient work-around.
Essentially, I just wanted to know if anyone else can independently confirm or deny this as a bug?
So, I believe the problem is the following, with the latest firmware:
The D70's work okay with VLAN setting set to MANUAL or NONE
The D40s and 50s go into a constant reboot cycle if set to MANUAL. IF I set them on a switch port that's already tagged or if you set them to NONE the work fine.
