What do I need for telemarketing/IVR Surveys

Postby Hawk73ku » Tue May 29, 2012 7:51 pm

I no nothing of this technology and am seeking information. I plan to start up an organization that does telemarketing and IVR phone surveys. Staff to connect remotely through a web interface. Startup plan is to make 500 calls daily by staff and as many IVR robo calls as possible when a survey is generated. Occasionally a FAX is sent when ordered by a client.

What would I need to accomplish this? Asterisk, trunk, channel, sips are terms I've come across but don't know how they connect. Any reputable Asterisk integrators you would refer?

I think you will find that very few people are prepared to answer questions on this topic.

The people that are active on this forum want to solve problems. The spent their knowledge and free time because they want to help people. Helping other people makes us feel good. It gives us a feeling that we can make a difference and can do our very little part in the creation of a better world.

Telemarketing isn't really something that makes the world a better and nicer place, isn't it? So, that is why people don't answer your question, they don't want to be involved in that.

Oh I see. I used the term telemarketing to give a visual. We aren't doing telemarketing as in trying to sell Amway or some product. Our organization is TEA Party United and we are indeed trying to make the United States a better place by uniting people to demand our government balance our budget and frugally spend precious taxpayer resources within constitutional constraints. Most of us have never engaged in the political system other than researching our candidates and pulling the lever on voting day. We are digging deep in our pockets to try and make a difference. We are not owned by any political party and seek to unite fiscal conservatives regardless of their current party affiliation. We are reaching out to educate those who have become apathetic about the system and have tuned out and turned off.

Policies we support lead to a strong American economy and a strong US dollar both of which make the world a better place. I can't imagine anyone on this forum doin any more important work.

Political calls are even worse than sales calls in my mind. In fact they are all sales calls no matter how you look at them. I dislike the "vote for me" or "vote this way" calls with a passion!

with all due respect you need to hire someone to do that, obiously many people can do that without problem, but never for free. So move your post to the job forum and you will see.

It is not necessary to set up Asterisk, trunk, channel and SIPs. You can simply opt for a Hosted PBX solution and the service provider will configure the system as per your requirements. I have been using PBX services from The Real PBX and my startup plan is for $9.95/month as rental and the rest for the calls I make. Calling is done through VOIP, so it is quite cheap. The deals finalized can also be sent to your fax. You can check out with their services.

I run a strictly inbound call center environment. When a client wants to blast their own user population with robo calls we use callfire.com. Not cause we cannot it is just time consuming to build.

I think you will find they have built what you are asking around asterisk already. Since you don't have what it takes to build it yourself this is probably the best route for you. Not sure what support there is for surveys though.

I have recently built a system to do with for a customer of mine. Basically what I did was:

Install a flavour of Asterisk with a nice GUI. I personally like PBX in a Flash as it's got a great support forum and is a very active project with lots of add-ons, etc.

I used Visual Dial Plan by Apstel (http://www.apstel.com/) to build dial plans to build a dial plan including IVR surveys and database integration (using their Integration Server). All survey answers are stored in a MySQL database.

Then I had a bespoke front end written by a company in India so that the customer can query the database in any way they needed to and monitor survey responses (which includes the option to record a message giving comments about the service).

Drop me a message if you want any more info and I will be happy to share!
