Visual Voicemail D50

Is anyone running into an issue where a user randomly can't use the MSGS button that goes to visual voicemail? It just says fetching, but never goes anywhere. Help greatly appreciated.

I have not seen this but often especially first time after reboot when I press the MSGS button it says fetching for a long time before it actually shows results. Maybe the phone is downloading the VM - how big is the VM message in in the VM ?

I've never seen it "fail" but I have seen it take a while to load the first time, as you saw.

It is a bigger issue than this.... it won't fetch status or configs on a reboot... I have seen this randomly happen this week. Nearly lost the customer last week because remote phones wouldn't register though firewall and access control rules were set correctly. Then randomly it started working, then randomly it doesn't.

Are you running the latest software release on their PBX Current Version:
5.5.3.1 (46701)? Sounds like something bigger may be at play, perhaps something on their network?

We're running the D series phones at multiple locations without these types of complaints.

The first release of 5.5 we had some issues with registration problems, but they seem to have cleared up in the latest releases.

What sort of firewalls are being used? Could be NAT timers or some ALG crap.

This is exactly what I thought. Turns out, Digium has a BUG in this release and it's happened on a small few of the systems, but mine is one of them. There is some combination of config variables that causes the proxy server process to crash randomly. When it does, you lose configs, pushed configs, visual voicemail, and status. Lovely. Support is currently analyzing.

Bummer. Would have been nice if they had posted the issue to the Switchvox Today page, so you could have related sooner..
