Unable to open master device '/dev/zap/ctl'

I've problem when I want to active zaptel. Please see my problem explanation:

huyenduong@huyenduong-desktop:~$ ztcfg
Notice: Configuration file is /etc/zaptel.conf
line 0: Unable to open master device '/dev/zap/ctl'


1 error(s) detected

And when access my asterisk "Unable to connect to remote asterisk (does /var/run/asterisk/asterisk.ctl exist?)

somebody can help me to solve my problem??

*) for additional information, I use Ubuntu server 8.10. And using card X100P.

Do You have /etc/zaptel.conf configured ? (sho it)

Asterisk is not started. Does #ps -xa show it ?

Unable to connect to remote asterisk(does /var/run/asterisk/asterisk.crl exist)

All you have to do to clear up the message “does /var/run/asterisk/asterisk.ctl exist” is to create a folder named “asterisk” under the /var/run/ folders and reboot. Just had this problem after performing the latest updates from the package manager。
